      • Direct smears and concentration techniques (saline sedimentation and formal ether) for diagnosis of parasitic diseases
      • Quantitative technique for determination of intensity of infection

      • Permanent stained stool smears for identification of newly emerging protozoa
    2. Detection of occult blood in stool for diagnosis of a number of gastrointestinal diseases
    3. Blood film for diagnosis of blood parasites as Malaria, Trypanosomiasis , Filariasis
    4. Serological test for diagnosis of early infection and tissue parasite
    5. ELISA test for Helicobacter pylori coproantigen
    6. ELISA test for fecal calprotectin
  • Collaboration with other departments of MRI, Faculty of Medicine and HIPH in scientific research covering all aspects of parasitic diseases
  • The Parasitology Department has achieved many projects sponsored by WHO and Ministry of Health concerned with diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitic diseases endemic in Egypt mainly Schistosoma and Fasciola
