Mission:
The Anesthesia and pain management department aims to assume a leading role in providing standardized, science-based solutions for managing pain and surgical health problems, whether in the operating room or the surgical intensive care unit, through innovative integration with the ICU and by leveraging the best creative and innovative international research and educational approaches to serve our community.
Strategic Goals of the Department:
The department aims to integrate research and clinical care to serve the community, in addition to participating at the international level and providing educational activity at the postgraduate level, as well as providing highly qualified anesthesiologists to serve the community.
These research areas represent the core pillars of the Department of Applied Medical Chemistry and aim to improve our understanding of cancer and develop more effective diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
Anaesthesia department established in 1963 by professor Mohamed Ramadan (16 beds /hospital), in1970 hospital beds increased to 240. In the near future, it will be 300 beds.
Anaesthesia department strategy for research 2007-2008 include: perioperative pain management, chronic pain management fast track anaesthesia, and recent advances in hepatobiliary anaesthesia.
